Silvia Cuevas-Morales was born in Chile in 1962. In 1975, she migrated to Australia where she lived until 1998. For many years she taught Spanish and Latin American literature in Melbourne until she met her partner. She now lives in Madrid where she works as an editor and literary translator.

Her articles, poems and short stories have been published in Australia, The United States and Spain. Her poetry has been published in various magazines, newspapers and electronic magazines (in English and Spanish) and in the following books: Purple Temptations, Melbourne, 1994; She?s a train and she?s dangerous, Western Australia, 1994; Amor y sombra. Antología de poetas hispanos en Australia, Sydney, 1995; Respiro de arena, Madrid, 1996; Sur/South Poem(a)s, Madrid/ Melbourne, 1998; Sobre el horizonte. She?s also the author of De la ?A? a la ?Z?: diccionario universal de autoras que escriben en castellano, siglo XX and Vínculos teatrales.
