SHE IS AN AUTUMN DAY
by Jennifer Elliott

Lying on the ground staring up at an autumn sky, I think of her.

She reminds me of Fall.

I close my eyes and see her face, smell her skin.

Eyes like the bluest sky,

Hair red as autumn leaves,

Skin fair, brushed with freckles,

Smile, as sweet and refreshing as billowy white clouds

Rolling into sight.

As clouds roll by I?m reminded,

Her mood can be light and airy,

Then dark and brooding without notice.

When

she?s not near she is all I think about.

When she is near I can?t think of anything else.

She is the only one who can make me laugh,

Make me cry,

Make me see my future.

She is the Autumn day that is my future.
