Life Wasted

Dear General

Because I shed blood once a month
And see that precious red fuel
Containing life
Wasted
I can take no sides in any war

My only role
In that insane game
Will be that of an undertaker
Getting rich and counting avidly the score

IŽll build coffins for all the sad colours
And rejoice at the sound of the tattoo
But i will not bury the innocent
General
I leave that sad task
To you
