Triptich This triptich reads (from left to right) from the abstracted (1) to the grit of the real (3), from the painterly to the domestic. My questioning of femininity with the heterosexual familial order lay hand in hand with my own experience of witnessing my late lover suffer from anoerexia.

I made a series of photographs that played with mirrors and frames. I was interested in the play of cross identification within a close (especially lesbian) relationship. I think now these images were a way of holding on and making permanent (as image) something that otherwise might not last. |

Diptich, Photograph 07, 08 The camera is static for each shot but the performers and their reflected image appear in different places. In 07, I hold the camera release, I control her image and my own. My eyes are at centre frame, Sandra is my frame, I am hers. In 08, we merge as subjects looking at ourselves and as images beeing reflected back to us. It is uncertain whether the hand on the cable release is mine or Sandra's. My image frames the scene on the right and left of image, but Sandra's image is more bold. |
