"The cast is amazing, and the storyline well written, with good character development through flashbacks. The guards and prison administration are portrayed as corrupt and exploitative in a believable way. The prisoners are multi-dimensional, at times sympathetic, with loyalties that change depending on what is at risk at that moment in time as tribal principles prevail. This story is about adaptation and survival as much as it is about finding love in all the wrong places. And this really happened to someone. I would highly recommend this enjoyable series."



So good! comedy/drama

I stumbled upon this gem recently and I stayed up till 5 and 6 in the morning for the last 2 nights. It?s a wonderful new TV series and its in- depth view of each character is wonderful. It makes you feel like you're really connected to it. I was really surprised at how unpredictable the script was and i loved it. I was impressed by Taylor schilling's performance as she went from extreme ends of the emotional spectrum within seconds. I especially love the content and how it portrays an insight to the world of female prison. The interactions between the sketchy law enforcers aka prison guards and the inmates. It's the much less explicit version of the L word.

To be honest, I wasn't going to watch the series because it didn't look or sound very interesting to me when people were talking about it. Then my friend invited me over and insisted that I watch it so I watched the first episode with her and was hooked. I LOVE the characters. I feel like I could know them in person and really love them all like they are a part of my family. I truly can't get enough! I love how the characters have flashbacks of their pasts as well. It gives us that inside look of what really went on in their previous lives which is really interesting. Your emotions really get played with regarding whether you like a certain character or not as well. Sometimes you love them, sometimes you hate them. There has been so much drama that half the time I won't even get up to use the bathroom because it's so intense and I don't want to pause it! It's crazy, funny, sad, complicated, and sexy all rolled into one! I would recommend it to everyone I know!
